Ep 5 - History of Stand-Up Comedy (pt 5)

Almost finished with our episodes on the history of stand-up comedy... now we delve into the creation of stage personas, stage names and gimmicks as well as the beginnings of non-white comedians entering the scene. This started with black comedians primarily on the chitlin' circuit, how Dick Gregory influenced a generation of white audiences by sitting on a couch, and the introduction of native comedians which trended for a little while before disappearing into obscurity again.
